What's in a name? We think names are important--they tell who we are and what we stand for. We named our company after John McKinley Payton--our grandfather who was a master carpenter. He worked hard in the early to mid 1900's in the mountains of Chattanooga, TN. He set an example of hard work, honesty, integrity and perfection in his work as well as a strong love for God and for his family. We desire to honor his legacy by continuing the family tradition.
JMP Products, LLC was founded in June of 2008. The founders, Tom Graves, John Graves, Josh Graves and Laurie Graves Berry had been involved in the construction industry for a combined 150 years. They understood construction schedules and how projects flowed. They opened JMP Products, LLC to use their experience to help clients provide their customers with the best hollow metal, door and hardware products in the business on schedule and meeting or exceeding their expectations.
After fifteen years in the business JMP Products has become a major player in the door and hardware business, not only in the Memphis area, but also around the country.
In 2012, Tom Graves lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. His son, Josh, now leads JMP Products, LLC and his son John is still a partner. Daughter, Laurie, continues to work with her brothers to further the JMP mission. We miss Tom, but we are so grateful for the godliness, faith, integrity, honesty, compassion, generosity, faithfulness, wit and wisdom that made him such a great husband, dad, friend, employer, advisor and mentor. These qualities continue to impact all of us through the lessons he taught us as well as our cherished memories.
"I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved (and will live forever), and will go in and out (freely), and find pasture (spiritual security)."
